"I'm tired of this place!" an annoyed hiss escaped Vittoria's mouth. The small white she-cat was padding back and forth in front of the metallic bars of their cage, black tail swishing behind her. It has been another day full of nothing, just wake up - eat the food the nofurs give you - sit in the cage and do nothing - ocasionally make dirt - go to sleep. Just another day full of boredom.
They have lived in this animal shelter for their whole seven-moons-old life, and the sameness of their days was almost driving the she-cat insane.
At least there was this old tom in the neighboring cage. Since he came, he often seemed to have nightmares and was talking from his sleep, about the wild, grass, trees, rivers.. And the cats that live in "clans". These words gave Vittoria hope, hope that one day they will escape from this place and join the wild cats in the forest.
The white she-cat finally sat down and looked behind her, where the rest of her family were. Her mother, along with her sister Lucrezia and brother Petruccio, were sleeping. 'Damn, I hope iI didn't wake them up.' The rest of her siblings, Belissa, Ezio and Romeo, she couldn't see what they were doing because they were hidden behind their mother.
Vittoria turned back towards the bars and the room behind them. There were other cages, some of them empty and in some of them were other cats, both old and young, both well-groomed and ragged. No one here had freedom, they were all caged, waiting for nofurs to take them away and then never return. And she was pretty sure the nofurs aren't freeing them. What a nofur once cages, it never lets it go.
