OOC: Throwing up a random thread for Erik. Feel free to join, folks!
Five sunrises had passed since his departure from the unclaimed wilderness. Had it really been five? Perhaps it was four, or even six. Nowhere near three, for certain. Three nights of travel would have left him highly energetic for an active tom such as himself, so with him feeling just the first tugs of a need to rest, he'd probably been roaming for at least four days. In other days, five sunrises had, indeed, come and gone since he set foot northwards to the giant nest of Twolegs he frequented every half-moon or so.
Scratching out the unusually deep hole with his white forepaw, Erik gave it a satisfied once-over before pushing the skeletal remains of a mouse into its final resting place, silently watching each uneaten bone clatter down. To think one day it'd be his own lifeless figure of flesh lying beneath the layers of earth, undisturbed for moons for it to meld together with nature's processes as time passed. Interesting. He proceeded to sweep the mound of dug-up soil back whence it came. The black tom gave the hole a good pat down, then continued his trek onward, away from the blackened lands where a great fire had raged and sent many creatures fleeing for safety. Twolegs tended to cause trouble wherever they roamed, and Erik was no stranger to its sight, but crossing the area always made him wonder if it was not a Twoleg who'd introduced the first spark here..
The tom soon recognised the acrid tang of Thunderpath, just a few fox-lengths ahead, but he wasn't in much of a hurry. Not because of the deafening roars of monsters or the terrible tastes of the smoke they left behind, really; he preferred taking in the surroundings whenever he passed by the scorched lands, wondering where oh where his next game could be played or the next treasure found...
