Brindlesun

Brindlesun is a large cat, definitely larger than most, with a solid, sturdy build and thick paws. Despite this, her build is also surprisingly flexible, with strong forearms for climbing. Much of her coat is brown with a darker brown tabby pattern, most notably at her shoulders with two dark brown patches. The brown steadily tapers into a more brownish gold-orange around her neck, where a thicker ruff of fur akin to a mane has formed. This gold-orange coloration continues up onto her muzzle and around her eyes, and all other colors are broken up by the white fur of her mouth, chest and underbelly. She has long white whiskers and bright, golden-green eyes, which are typically wide with either mirth or alertness.

Traits

Likes: Showing off, snow or a nice dry sunny day, a cloudless wide-open sky, eating.
Dislikes: Being ignored, being too hot or wet, cramped spaces, being berated for eating too much.
Fears: As she's not the strongest swimmer, she has a fear of going near water, and especially of drowning. She also has a fear of isolation, and though it's unlikely to happen, she dreads the idea of being completely alone.


   Brindlesun had a relatively normal upbringing, all things considered. She was born to a Queen in Dawnclan, with a Warrior tom for a father. The only abnormal thing about her birth was the fact that she was the only kit in her litter. Still, she was born perfectly healthy, if not a little large of being a newborn, and was named Brindlekit for the pattern of her fur. As a kit, she was aggressively playful, constantly bothering her mother and the other kits born at the time for attention and for a chance to rough-house. She was a troublemaker, plain and simple, even going so far as to nick another kit’s ear when they were play-fighting. She was scolded thoroughly for it, even though it made her feel a little bit like a warrior already.

   As an apprentice, she was actually passed between two mentors, the first having trouble with her brashness and having to pass her own to a more level-headed mentor. Despite her rough edges, Brindlepaw would eventually be shaped into a capable warrior, showing an aptitude for scaling the rocks around the clan grounds and for repelling cats slinking along their borders during patrols. One of her more harrowing experiences was an encounter with a fox. Alongside her mentor, she was able to chase the vermin out of the badger sets during a hunt. Unfortunately, she had scampered off ahead to do so and was, again, scolded for being reckless. She learned, though, and while it may have taken her a couple more moons longer than the other apprentices, she did get promoted to Warrior with little issue, and became Brindlesun.

   Many moons passed as the fledgling warrior began to really show her stuff. Well, show her stuff insomuch as she began to patrol, hunt, and fight like a real warrior, attempting to show off at every opportunity. Some called her a try-hard, while others were genuinely impressed with her apparent dedication and inability to give up. Just like when she was an apprentice, she refused to be discouraged, and butted her head against every obstacle in her way – literal or metaphorical.

   Now, she likes to think of herself as the ‘cream of the crop’ of Dawnclan, one of the finest warriors and a fine example of a cat in general. Despite knowing she won’t ever be leader of the clan, she does actively seek a sort of ‘leadership’ role among her peers. She finally has her first apprentice, and they're a doozy.
